What will I be doing on this trip?
Millet Festival: Krobo region is famous around the world for the glass beads. Here they are produced, here they are used for cults and esthetic purpose. We attend the harvest festival: all chiefs and elders will come adorned with the best beads and jewelry.
In the Royal Palace of Kumasi we attend the Akwasidae Festival. There are certain days each year on the Ashanti calendar set aside for a celebration at the Royal Palace. This ceremony is called Akwasidae. During the celebration, the King is seated under a spectacular umbrella of colorful, draped cloth and is adorned in vivid cloth and massive gold jewelry which is centuries old.

How does this holiday makes a difference?
We have built strong links with local communities, craftspeople and artists who are maintaining their culture and traditions. We offer visitors an opportunity to meet them, thereby valuing their activities and thus helping towards their survival. After the trip in the craft villages – Adamwomase, Ahwia and Ntonso travellers are encouraged to leave some money in the communities by eating delicious and nutritious local foods and buy local souvenirs.
Recently, in Adanwomase one of the craft villages in the Ashanti Region, the entrance fees generated were used to build visitors centre for the site and renovate their school buildings.
All guides on this trip are local guides, picked for their excellent indigenous knowledge of the area and high degree of training.
Any time we send travellers or tourists to a community based tourism site, we donate or give something to support in the development of the community.
