In our volunteering section we have projects in West Africa that give you the opportunity to benefit local communities whilst experiencing their cultural, natural, social and historical heritages in a respectful way. Gambia volunteering project: Early Childhood Development
Description: Help develop a pioneering Early Childhood Development training and resource centre in the Gambia - the country's first ECD resource. Live and work in one of the friendliest countries in Africa!
Price: From £1,085 (4 weeks) based on self catering apartment. Each additional week £145.

Gambia volunteering project: Building Farmers' Livelihoods
Description: Work with an award winning poverty reduction programme. Training and supporting 1000 farmers, this community wealth creation programme is making a real difference to Gambian lives - particularly women and children.
Price: From £1,295 (4 weeks) based on bed and breakfast in a small hotel whose owners are huge supporters of the volunteer programme.

Gambia volunteering project: Nursery School Support
Description: Share your nursery and creative learning skills at Bijilo Nursery School. Work with local teachers in their school to help them give their children the best start possible. You will be welcomed by the principal, Mr Carrjobe.

Description: Enable Gambian people to build better livelihoods with pratical help, business skills and community work. Work with an internationally recognised local association to help create local wealth – through trade not aid.
