On each stop, commentated tours and workshops will be organized to share innovated professional practices. As during the first edition in 2008, participants with very different profiles will be the main characters on this itinerant intercultural formation.

After the first success of the Solidarity Caravan Europe-Africa in 2008, a new edition will be on the road again.
This Solidarity Caravan from West-Africa 2011 will go across Benin, Togo, Ghana and Burkina Faso in November 2011. It is the only rally where the goal is… to cross the final line together!

The departure will be on the 3rd of November from Cotonou, with different stops in Possotomé, Glazoué and Koussoukoingou. Participants will then head off to Togo stopping by Kara, Atakpamé, Kpalimé and Kloto, then Ghana via Hohoe, Nkwanta, Mongnori, Tamalé to finally reach the cities of Bobo-Dioulasso, Sabou, Ouagadougou and Laongo in Burkina-Faso. It will be a 2.237 miles tour spreads over 2 weeks.

The difference...

The Solidarity Caravan will allow us to analyze problems such as water decontamination, garbage control, renewable energies, wildlife conservation, reforestation, sustainable food production but also on the important role of women in activities generating incomes (craft industry, local agro-industry, rural and urban tourism, environment conservation and maintaining the cultural diversity alive…)

In order to reduce the impact of expedition on the greenhouse production, several actions are suggested, such as bus transportation and above all the mangrove plantation on the bank of the Ahémé Lake in Benin.
